The hardware reference says that the keyboard/mouse and the serial ports go through the Zilog UARTS, and then lists driver chips, but doesn't say which are keyboard and which serial port. There are quite a few oufits in the city of Cambridge doing hardware prototyping, so I think it should be possible to find a friend of a friend who can replace chips for me -- but which? Any ideas, clues, advice? (Yeah, yeah, "buy a Sparcstation". I just bought a new motorbike, no money left for computers.) It is incredibly ancient and has obscure bugs. Grab a copy of Taylor UUCP [aka gnu uucp] and use that instead. - ------------------------------ Date: Tue, 13 Aug 1996 19:50:37 -0400 From: jfortes@saturn.net (Jonathan Fortes) Subject: Modifying Toshiba 3201B CD-ROM To: Suns-at-Home@tigger.net-kitchen.com I recently looked at the Sun CD-ROM FAQ for info on how to modify a Toshiba 3201B cdrom drive to work with a Sun, but there was only info on other Toshiba models. Anyone know what to do? - ------------------------------ Date: Wed, 14 Aug 1996 23:53:42 -0700 (MST) From: killion@primenet.com (Richard Killion) Subject: Sun 3 hardware/software for sale To: suns-at-home@tigger.net-kitchen.com I have Sun 3 hardware/software and tapes for sale. To save bandwidth of this list, I won't list it here. Please see my web page at: http://www.primenet.com/~killion/ killion@primenet.com P.S. I also have some Robotics/AI books, PC & Mac books, HW and SW. - ------------------------------ Date: Sun, 11 Aug 96 22:00:00 -0600 From: leyte@ostwo.com (LEYTE) Subject: SUNS-AT-HOME DIGEST V9 #26 To: Suns-at-Home@tigger.net-kitchen.com Is there a way I can clear my eprom? I've not seen anything that will let you use a Sun keyboard on a PC. I have seen the opposite; allowing you to use a PC keyboard on a Sun. This is popular since the PC keyboards are cheap and available in a lot of different styles. Sun keyboards are expensive and limitedn styles thus no converters. Sorry. - ------------------------------ End of Suns-at-Home Digest ******************************
