I connect to the network at work via dial-up PPP, which is again analogous to your SLIP connection. When I run Netscape (which is what I assume you meant by "connect to the Internet"; did you mean IRC and such also?), I set the Netscape option "proxy server" to the Internet gateway machine at work, which is the same thing I do when I'm at work. -- Andy Nguyen \ aqn@tivoli.com \ Tivoli Systems, Austin, TX \ 512.436.8229 I still miss Charles Wang, but my aim is getting better. - ------------------------------ Date: Sat, 13 Jul 1996 20:23:04 -0400 From: anarvaez@neitech.com (Arthur J. To: suns-at-home@tigger.net-kitchen.com I did my research and was able to find a few reports on people having success using Iomega's JAZ drive on Sparcs. But has anyone been able to get it to work correctly with the volumne manager? - ------------------------------ Date: Mon, 15 Jul 1996 09:23:47 -0700 (PDT) From: "Anthony D'Atri" Subject: Serial file transfer To: Suns-at-Home-List@tigger.net-kitchen.com >I'm trying to set up a serial file transfer program on an IPX running >Solaris 2.4. How fast are you trying to run the serial port on the Sun? Was your ckermit binary there compiled under 5.4? - ------------------------------ Date: Sun, 14 Jul 1996 08:58:12 -0400 From: ehenry Subject: slip/ppp software for sunos 4.1.3 To: Suns-at-Home@tigger.net-kitchen.com what can you suggest, for a sunos 4.1.3 needing slip/ppp software. ehenry@dorsai.org - ------------------------------ End of Suns-at-Home Digest ******************************
