I remember having all this sort of problem when I last built X11R5, I don't know if it will help but my site.def has #define HasGcc YES and sun.cf has #define SharedLibraryCcCmd cc PS there are pre-built binaries of Sun3 X11R6p1 in an ftp site some where. It is running sunos 4.1.3U1, is bound to an HP NIS server, and is running the automounter. When ever I switch into an automounted directory the machine prints the ever so lovely message: NFS SERVER EMBED14 not responding.... NFS SERVER EMBED14 Okay ..... it takes quite a while between messages though. Embed14 is an hp 9000/715 running hpux 9.0.5 and is serving quite a few other machines none of which have complained. (Including another sun 4/330 running the same operating system). I thought it might be the hardware, so I had sun service come in and replace the motherboard (the previous owner's were so gracious as to leave the warentee in effect for quite a while.) I compiled TCPBLAST from thor.ece.uc.edu to see if maybe the network was at fault. Well, tcpblast gets a few packets into say 500 1k packets and then hangs. Anyone got any suggestions? I guess I could call sun service again... Are you sure you didn't pick the ethernet isolation pulse transformer (it is in a DIL package) or the DC-DC converter. How does it look like and what size is it?
