If you have a 3-Com ethernet card (ec0) in the sun2 you could try an Intel one (ie0). I have a couple of Sun3/60 on a Sun2/170 server (yes, a crazy combination) that started to work only after the 3Com was replaced by an Intel. I have been told that this is because the le interface of the Sun3 simply overruns the Sun2's ec. You might experience the same problems. For NFS you can try to use the wsize and rsize options to limit the NFS packet size to something that will fit into the ethernet card's onboard buffer. The 3Com seems to have a rather small one. Intel is better for this. Hope this is of any help Wilko ------------------------------ End of Suns-at-Home Digest ******************************
