To: dar@synthesis.com I just bought a Micropolis 1548 (1.7GB formatted) to replace the Fujitsu 2263SA which I put into a DOS system I just built. The price was $1099 with a 5-year warranty. I found it through a Macintosh magazine. In general you should have no trouble using any major manufacturer's drive with your sparcstation, unless maybe you accidently order differential SCSI interface or some such thing. Can anyone fax or email me the pertinent pages from a FSE manual concerning these adjustments? I have bought an Solaris x86 2.1 for an 486 DX 50 EISA with DPT 2012 Controller and TEXEL 3024 (same as 5024 but internal). The problem is that I tried to install the OS with the normal bios for the CDROM but I failed. So my vendor gave me a special bios especially for SUN. With this bios I succeed to install the system. But now I am not able to use it under DOS. The vendor told me that this problem is not only TEXEL special. Perhabs you can tell me how to solve this problem. Another Q: Where can I get the CDware in Germany. Or other good stuff on CD for Solaris. ------------------------------ End of Suns-at-Home Digest ******************************
