I'd like to know. It worked fine for me with the ftp.cad.gatech.edu X11R5 distribution. You probably don't have the right set of devices in /dev. Specifically, /dev/bwtwo0 should point to the overlay plane. If your 3/60 has an onboard monochrome frame buffer (most do), you need to: cd /dev ./MAKEDEV bwtwo1 mv bwtwo0 bwtwo0- mv bwtwo1 bwtwo0 (You could accomplish the same thing by rearranging your kernel config file.) ------------------------------ Date: Sat, 30 Oct 93 17:31:06 -0700 From: dehaven@netcom.com (Jeff De Haven) Subject: Complete IPX Suns-at-Home System For Sale To: suns-at-home@ecn.purdue.edu Complete IPX Suns-at-Home System For Sale Description QTY New Price Extended Cost Asking ----------- --- ----- ------------- ------ Sun IPX workstation 1 10,995.00 10,995.00 5,000.00 16" color monitor 424 MB Internal Disk Sun 16MB Internal Memory 3 700.00 2,100.00 1,800.00 Sun 424MB External Disk 1 1,395.00 1,395.00 600.00 Sun 1/4" Tape Drive 1 1,200.00 1,200.00 850.00 --------- --------- 15,690.00 8,250.00 System is completely configure with SunOS 4.1.3 and PPP from Morning Star Technologies. To: suns-at-home@harbor.ecn.purdue.edu Greetings, I have need for the card that goes between an esdi drive and the scsi port on a 3/60. It's made by emulex (assy mu2110402 rev r 3). Does anyone have one i could borrow, rent, or buy (cheaply)? History... mine broke and i want to get the data off the drive, then sell both 380MB drives and get a scsi drive. Any takers? Sun2 boards, including CPU boards, SCSI boards, BW and color FBs, one and four Meg memory boards, a Sky FP board, an Adaptec SCSI<->ESDI board, a SYSGEN tape controller, and probably some others that I have forgotten. A 1/4" QIC 60 Meg tape drive. A Sun2/120 chassis with a power supply (not the original one). A monochrome monitor (17"?) and a mouse and keyboard. SunOS 4.0 on 1/4" QIC 60 Meg tapes. Possibly also two disks (?? MB) and SunOS 4.0.3 on tape. If you are interested in any of this stuff, make an offer. I will be digging this stuff out of storage shortly and can provide any additional information you might want. I would prefer to sell everything together as a complete system. There is no guarantee that any of this works, but it was working last time I used it. I am in Santa Clara, CA. Note that with R4, the color plane was :0.1 and the mono :0.0; this is reversed with R5 due to faster cfb code. Your problem, though, is probably due to the kernel. You were probably used to changing the "dtop4" in the kernel config file to "dtop", and this worked just fine. With 4.1.1, though, it breaks zaphoding. ------------------------------ End of Suns-at-Home Digest ******************************
