To: suns-at-home@orchestra.ecn.purdue.edu I recently set up my Sun 3/60 to startup the X environment via xdm and use the twm window manager. After spending several evenings (I,m really new to the X environment) I finally achieved a decent X environment. But there still exists one problem with it. When the screen refreshes from the wondering X screen saver, only the text portion of the icons will refresh (ie. display). The picture portion contains only a grey background. If I run xrefresh everything clears up and the icons display properly. What am I doing wrong? I can not locate any information on how to tell the X server to do a refresh after screen saver mode. P.S. I hope I sent this request properly. I am going thru a gateway from my company's proprietary mail system. I can help for I had the exact same problem as did he. I can login OK by hand, and even login as uucp user by hand. By when uucico tried, it was a failure every time, no matter what I did! I found a SUN hacker and he solved the proble. Actually you can also read the FAQ of comp.sun.* on usenet and it is also explained there. Here is what you need to do: In your Systems entry you have to add a P_ZERO at the front of the script as follows: host Any ACU speed telno "" P_ZERO "" chat script ...and it will work OK.
