To: suns-at-home@orchestra.ecn.purdue.edu Hi! I've just got a friend for my sun-2/120, in the form of a sun-2/50. Does a sun 2/50 actually have a SCSI interface? There is a connector which looks right (but is unlabelled) on the back of the box. When I plugged a known good adaptec-4000+st506 drive into it and typed b sd() nothing useful happened. In fact, regardless of the presence or absence of a SCSI device on this connector, the response from the 2/50 is: Timeout Bus Error, addr: 00EE2804 at EF5734 Can anyone tell me if this means I don't have a SCSI interface installed (if one exists for the 2/50!), or does it imply something simpler (like some sort of cabling problem)? The 2/50 is a 2Mm ram system (2/50-2). I get the feeling that perhaps SCSI interfaces don't exist for 2/50's. If anyone can prove me wrong (and tell me where I can get one) I'd be most grateful :-) Cheers! Hope the winter's went ok in the Northern Hemisphere. Summer's coming along just fine down here :-) Simon -- {----------------------------------------------------------------------------} { Simon Hackett, Communications/Systems, University of Adelaide, Australia } { E-mail: simon@ucs.adelaide.edu.au } { Phone: (Australia) 08 228 5669 Fax: (Australia) 08 223 6245 } { "Unix is a registered bell of AT&T trademark laboratories." } {----------------------------------------------------------------------------} ------------------------------ End of Suns-at-Home Digest ******************************
