Here is the collected list, in alphabetical order, based on responses I got from the net. The companies vary widely on warranty and availability of machines. The general feeling I got from calling around was that many of the larger Sun installations are selling their Sun 3's and investing in SparcStations and Sun 4's. Sun 2's are ubiquitous and cheap. McKay, I received your mail loud and clear. Can I have a list of Suns-at-Home users. [My response to "subra" was no. I don't give out the Suns-at-home list] [as a matter of policy. I'm posting his questions here so you can help] [him out. --ddm ] Request 1 is software. Do anybody out there have spice file ( or spice.huge ) under /ucb. If you do, please let me know. Request 2 is interfacing. Has anyone manage to interface the SUN 3 series with Graphtec XY Plotter MP2000 or HP7570A Draftpro Plotter. Graphtec XY plotter will only plot out any file less than 5250 bytes. Above than that, it will go hay-wire. Might be the Xon/Xoff or interfacing problem. The plotter uses HPGL emulation commands. The same goes for the HP plotter. Hope those requests will be distributed around. Thank you. To: Suns-at-Home@orchestra.ecn.purdue.edu Hello Suns-at-home Listeners: I have a Sun 3/50 with a 19" Monochrome monitor, and the High-voltage section of the monitor blew up this weekend. The Machine works O.K., via the serial ports. I called a few places to see how much it would cost to repair the monitor, and found that the price ranges from $450-$900. I have fixed several T.V.'s in my time, and I know I can fix this, ( the CRT is O.K. ) if I could just get a Schematic of the monitor system. None of the repair facilities I called was willing to sell me a schematic, so I thought I would try our readership on Suns-at-home. If you have any info or clues, I would appriciate a note. Thanks --------------- Ron Stillinger stillinger@stat.orst.edu ------------------------------ End of Suns-at-Home Digest ******************************
