It uses the same cable as the 3/80, but when I tried it out I got nothing. Does anyone have any experience with using 3rd party monitors with the 3/80? cheers, al. -- /* Allan.Kelly@ed.ac.uk. . . . . . http://edina.ed.ac.uk * Software Engineer * . . . . . It sounds as if you are using the proper ports. Most likely you need a null modem in addition to (or instead of) the gender changer. - ------------------------------ Date: Wed, 19 May 1999 20:54:54 -0400 (EDT) From: Zachary Uram Subject: need modem for IPX! To: suns-at-home@tigger.net-kitchen.com Hi I have Red Hat Linux installed on my IPX and I would like to get PPP working so i can dial in to the local campus modem pool. I have a 2400 baud IBM modem but this is too slow for PPP. So I wanted to know type of modem is compatible with the IPX and what else do I need to attach it to IPX and where can I get this and the modem. I heard 38kbps is the max speed for IPX so maybe somone on here has used 38.8 external modem they can sell me cheap or knows where I can procure one :) (And the necessary cable etc.) Thanks!
