It takes the 30 pin simms which have been stripped out. This WAS a working machine when it was turned off years ago and I haven't bothered testing it or powering it up. To: Suns-at-Home@tigger.net-kitchen.com I have an Axi motherboard based box. Actually no video card, but next week I'll have an ATI in my hands. Stay tuned ;)) ----- I'm looking at building a PCI-based UltraSPARC system with an UltraAXi motherboard. I'm interested in what graphics options are available for PCI-based Sun boxes. Sun only lists the Permedia 2 (Techsource Raptor) and the ATI Rage IIc (Charger). I know the Creator series is also available, but what about any others? Matrox, Diamond? I'm looking for something that will do well in Orcad and AutoCAD, but also Quake II. Any suggestions? It's been up since then (it has dead nvram > battery, so i cant switch it off...) > Hi Ari, I saw the link to this script in a Sun-rescue newsgroup and saved it. Although I haven't tried it yet, I thought you might be interested. "Script based eeprom 1.0, fixes Sun workstations.... for Solaris 2X and Solaris 1X, maybe NetBSD too. These have been tested in theory only. I use this on Solaris 2.5.1, my bad nvram exists on a Sun ELC workstation. "The script executes at startup in /etc/rc2.d at system startup. It checks the seldomly used eeprom variable "oem-banner". If this variable does not contain our system id 8:0:20:f4:0b:91; then the system writes a script that will set the hostid in the nvramrc (a place that the eeprom allows for a script to be created) then it reboots the workstation. When the system comes back up again it checks the oem-banner for it's hostid." http://people.ce.mediaone.net/rpoznan/eepromscript.html the link to Sun Rescue society and to get on the list: http://rescue.sunhelp.org/ Justin VanderZiel mailto:zielot@thebestisp.com - ------------------------------ Date: Mon, 3 May 1999 09:43:42 -0500 From: "Vanderziel, Justin" Subject: Suns-at-Home Digest V12 #13 To: "'Suns-at-Home@net-kitchen.com'" , Mathew, You've probably already received a slew of advice by now but in case you haven't, here are some links that I've found useful.
