I'm new to the list, but I've been through some of the archives and I'm glad there is a list out there like this. I am going to be getting a Sun 3/60 from a friend of mine and had a question about power usage. Does anyone with a similar machine have any idea of how much it would cost to run one of these machines all the time? I'm really excited to be joining the Sun world and hope that this list can make the transition easier. Formatted disks from SunOS4.0 using format. Booted off from swap NetBSD1.2 miniroot and installed the system. BUT... NetBSD1.2 is almost working solution but it crashes from now and then. Some occurences that I've had: - setting the kernel time using /bin/date - using /usr/bin/reset over telnet session - ie0 reports "DMA underrun" I've tried OpenBSD2.0 with same results adding some si0 dma-problems. OpenBSD2.0 kernel is ment for sun4c models... if it really matters. They claim that it should run on sun4 models too... My question, is anybody using Net/OpenBSD with any success?? I'm currently using NetBSD1.2 with my Sun3/60 with absolutely no problems. What is the latest SunOS release for sun4/260 ?? Thanks, /wm . Willi Messmer, Laserkatu 4 A 4, 53850 LAPPEENRANTA FINLAND .
