Well, the "Good Home" needs to be within collectable distance of
Manchester, UK, but the following items could be of interest to anyone who
likes preserving and playing with ancient Sun equipment.
1. Original "dimple top" 19" B&W monitor (but, originating from a Sun
3/160 it at least has a stand). Vertical time base a trifle non-linear,
but there is a second working time-base board that might be better.
2. Bwtwo sbus card for driving the above. (driver available for up to
Solaris 9).
3. Spare dimple top monitor non-working (EHT transformer?) but good for
spares.
4. Shoebox containing 140MB SCSI 5.5" disc plus QIC-24 tape drive, both
working.
5. 2nd shoebox containing QIC-24 tape (needs new pinch roller, but I know
where to obtain same) plus another 140MB disc that fails to run up to full
speed.
6. Another QUIC-24 tape (also needs pinch roller) pulled from a
rack-mounted (VME bus?) system.
7. A dozen or so QUIC-24 tape cartridges.
8. SPARCstation 1+; 28MB RAM, 400MB disc (I might be able to throw in a
1GB disc). Needs a new NVRAM (don't they all), but otherwise working.
9. Type 4 keyboard (Shift key needs cleaning, but otherwise OK) plus a
selection of mice.
10. Original Apple Laserwriter plus (worked last time I tried it, but a
bit iffy in hot weather); all of 512KB RAM. Don't know if cartridges are
still available, but I expect the remanufacturers can still supply.
11. An assortment of cables for connecting all the above together.
