Actually sounds more like the chassis interlock is disengaged. Make
sure the side panel of the SB1000 is firmly seated in place before
your next power-on attempt.

Also, have you attempted to connect a console device (terminal, or
another host running a terminal emulator like HyperTerm/PuTTY) to
serial port A to read the output prior to the shutdown?
