I have a Netra t 1405 (Same motherboard as Ultra 80 or E420R) with four
440MHz processors, 4 gigs RAM and a GFX8P frame buffer/graphics board. It's
served quite nicely as a general purpose, rather imposing looking desktop
machine with Solaris 10 and Star Office. I rescued it from a data center
upgrade/downsize junkpile. I've been in the Seti @ Home project since near
the beginning and have the BOINC Seti @ Home running on several Windows
boxes. I've spent hours trying to get it to run on my Netra and I've come to
the conclusion I'm not enough of a Unix guru to make it work without going
back to school. Has anyone here managed to get S&H running on an Ultra 80 or
E420R? I've tried the distributions listed on the Seti @ home website, and
many links are dead, and the ones I can get to have to be edited and
compiled.
