as an aside, something to keep in mind is that - at least when 
gigabit networking first hit the 'street' back about 1998, Sun was 
recommending at least 300mhz of CPU capacity available to support a 
single gbit adapter - over and above your other computational needs. 
since the ultra 10 is from that general era, it may be applicable.
