> Unless you want to rewrite the nroff
Hello Bob
Just looked in my cupboard and found a manual titled "Memorandum Macros
- Document Formatting and Typesetting on the UNIX System" by DW Smith.
Copyright 1980 AT&T Bell Telephone Laboratories. It's more or less a 345
page troff man page printed out and bound.
Every now and then we find an old document typeset with troff about an
obscure 5ESS circuit pack in the back of someones desk drawer and all
the greybeards start reminiscing about nroff et al at the coffee
machine. It usually sounds something like the Monty Python "Four
Yorkshiremen" sketch:-
1st Greybeard : "In my day we didn't have none of your fancy mice, we
had to type it all in by hand".
2nd Greybeard : "Keyboard!? Luxury! In my day we all we had were toggle
switches and we liked 'em!".
3rd Greybeard : "Toggle switches! Pah! All we had was a ha'penny screw
driver to short the pins".
4th Greybeard : "Screw driver!".
etc etc...
Best regards
Ben
