[Suns-at-Home] 2.6 ppp setup help!

anyone out there using asppp with a modem on 2.6?  it's my last
stumbling block in upgrading from 2.5 and for a reason i can't fathom
my 2.5 setup doesn't work on 2.6.

it successfully dials out and connects -once-, but leaves the routing
table in a bad state so that the wrong machine is left as the gateway.
