Christmas Video

I shot and edited a Christmas video this afternoon.
One of the things I really enjoy about my family is that we are all musicians and I’m glad to share that with you. This video features my wife Mary and my older daughter Cat singing. My younger daughter, Susan, accompanies them on flute. Cat’s voice teacher, Marla Stanton is playing the piano. The venue is the United Methodist Church on the corner of 6th and North streets in Lafayette, IN.
This my first try at using two cameras to capture a live performance. You can see the difference in quality when I fade between the video shot on my DV camcorder and my iPhone. I’ve got more to learn about color grading and editing, but I’m fairly happy with this first effort.

Congratulations Leon!

I am excited to see a good friend of mine, Dr. Leon Thacker, receive the Hovde award for his service to Indiana as director of the Animal Disease Diagnostic Laboratory here at Purdue. Leon is solid Christian and a thoughtful friend. He has been a great help to me in my Christian development.
Here’s the press release about the Hovde award from the Purdue News Service.
